SWAR
"to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned domestic animals"

South West Animal Rescue is a not for profit organisation based in  Bunbury, the south west of Western Australia.

It was established in November 2006 to address the lack of an animal shelter in the Bunbury area. Our primary goal is to rescue abandoned domestic animals, usually from pounds and vet clinics, foster them into homes temporarily while we look for their perfect "forever home".

Before being re-homed all of our animals are sterilised, vaccinated, flea and worm treated.

South West Animal Rescue rely on foster carers to house the animals while we are looking for their "forever home", however we are actively looking at ways to establish an animal shelter at a permanent base in the Bunbury area.

South West Animal Rescue are strong advocates of responsible pet ownership through sterilising to prevent unwanted offspring. We also strongly urge all  potential dog owners to consider the breed of dog they are intending on buying to ensure it is compatable with your home and lifestyle. This prevents a dog growing up in an unsuitable environment, which then leads to destructive behaviours and boredom.
